Suicide (Making A Choice; Dealing With Theirs)

Scripture

Exodus 20:13 "Thou shall not kill!"

Psalm 34:8,9 "Oh, put God to the test and see how kind he is! See for yourself the way his mercies shower down on all who trust in him. If you belong to the Lord, reverence him; for everyone who does this has everything he needs."

Psalm 139:16 "You saw me before I was born and scheduled each day of my life before I began to breathe. Every day was recorded in your Book!"

Message

Whether you kill someone else or yourself, it is wrong. The Bible calls it sin. As a non believer, I must warn you that you are sending yourself straight to hell. If this scares you, it should! If you are so depressed that suicide sounds like the only thing left to do, you need help, and you need it now! Do not do anything so permanent to your future when all you need is guidance, direction and purpose. You need to know that the life God gave you is so very precious and meaningful. He has such a special plan for you! Please don't do anything stupid. Don't give up all you have so easily, especially for a reason that might only be temporary. Heartache, pain, illness, financial despair; these are temporary reasons for a permanent choice.

Death is forever! Once you are gone, there is NO turning back, no change of heart. Think of all the hurt you will cause your family and friends if you go through with it. This is a very selfish choice. Besides, it is not for you to decide when to go. God will take you when it is time. Don't you know how very important you are to Him? He loves you so much. It is unconditional. No matter what you do, He will love you. But He also gives you choices. He loves you that much! Don't make the wrong choice. He can help you and He wants to.

Please say a prayer and ask Him to rescue you before you make the worst decision of your life. And if your loved one has chosen this way out, it is okay to cry and to mourn for them. But you can not spend your precious life feeling guilty. It was their life and their choice. Once they made the decision that this is what he or she wanted to do, there was probably nothing you could have done to change their mind. They needed help long before then. Do not live your life in regret and in all the "if onlys". "If only I had known. If only I had listened. If only." They can smother you with guilt.

It's hard now, but someday you might be able to turn your painful mess into a message, by sharing this experience with someone who is thinking that suicide is their only answer. Who knows, you just might be able to persuade them to change their mind and seek the help they need. You could be the answer to their prayers.

Prayer

Dear Lord, Please, hear my prayer. I am so confused. The ways of this world are weighing heavy on my heart. Satan is pulling me down so low I can barely see above the ground. The bowels of hell are tugging at my weary soul. I want to die! I want to give up! Please make me want to live! It hurts so deep, Father. I have made such a mess of my life. Help me undo it. Please send me an answer before my spirit gives up completely and I give into the devil's evil ways. I am weak. But you, Father, are strong. Lift me up into your arms and hold me until the uncontrollable urges inside my body pass and I am able to walk on my own. Let my life be important. Let me live in peace again. Take this burden from my troubled soul and help me make a difference. I am on my knees begging you, Father. Please help me. In Jesus' name. Amen
