Sickness/Dying (Why Me/Why Them?)
Scripture
2Corinthians 12:8,9 "Three
different times I begged God to make we well again. Each
time he said, 'No. But I am with
you: that is all you need. My power shows up best in weak people.'"
John 11:3,4 "So
the two sisters sent a message to Jesus telling him, 'Sir,
your good friend (Lazarus) is very, very
sick.' But when Jesus heard about it he said, 'The purpose
of his illness is not death, but for the glory of God. I, the
Son of God, will receive glory from this situation.'"
Message
Living in pain everyday can take its toll. But oh the miracles
of God. They really do exist. Let Him use you for one. Sometimes
God gets glory by how we endure the pain we are going through,
not in the removal of it. Let Him take you through the pain
and the suffering, and then make you His glory. Stay strong
and know that He is God. Do not get discouraged and give up.
If you or your loved one is sick and bedridden, do not ever
give up hope. God can do anything. But you need faith to know
that He can. It is in His hands. And though He already has
a plan for you, ask Him to spare you from this terrifying ordeal,
if it is not His will. Ask that He, God Almighty, give you
or your loved one another chance at this precious life He blessed
you with. If you are not ready to give up or give in to the
illness or injuries, then tell Him! Ask that you be spared.
Ask Him for His strength. There could possibly be another plan,
even a better plan. But you have to ask and you have to believe
that all things are possible, even when all the odds seem to
be against you.
It is through our
faith that we believe, in all He is and all He does. But
if His will is for you not to be here on earth
anymore, do not despair! There is an answer. From your home,
bed, or wheelchair you need to say this prayer. I promise that
God will bless you with eternal life in His perfect world. "Lord,
please forgive me for all the wrong I have done. I know I am
a sinner, but please come into my heart. I know Jesus is my
Lord and my Savior and that He was sent to earth to die for
me so that someday I may have eternal life. Grant this for
me now, Father. Let me live with you forever. In Jesus name,
I pray. Amen."
Prayer
Dear Lord, Help me make it through this time of need. There
is sickness (injury) surrounding my world. I can barely move
anymore. I lay at death's door, afraid and seemingly all alone.
I know my days are few if that is Your decision. I know, too,
that I can pull through this illness and stand strong once
more if it is Your will. I can and will make this my testimony
to You, Father, to bring You the glory You so richly deserve.
If this is what You want, then I will fight for this precious
life You so graciously bestowed on me.
Help me through this, Father, no matter what Your Will may
be. I know the godly and saved will see you someday, and I
am so pleased to be one of them. I pray from my heart that
it will be later for me and for my loved ones to join You.
But I will accept Your will if it is sooner. Let my life be
worth something. I pray that I have made a difference in someone's
life and helped them to believe that You are all they will
ever need. Now and always, in Christ's name. Amen.
