Psalm 127:3-5 "Children are a gift from God; they are his reward. Children born to a young man are like sharp arrows to defend him. Happy is the man who has his quiver full of them. That man shall have the help he needs when arguing with his enemies."

Message

Oh the joy of a child! Their laughter, their touch, their presence, their innocence. What would we ever do without them? And yet some women chose not to have them. For as long as I live, I will never understand how a woman would never want to hear the words, "You are going to have a baby!" Or never want to experience that indescribable moment when she feels movement for the first time from inside her womb. To pick a name, to fix up a nursery, to plan for a life and a future, how does anyone ever live without knowing the feeling of being a parent? This is, of course, a choice, her choice. Some women just don't want to be mothers. Though I will never understand it, I do respect their decision.

However, if a woman finds herself with child, whether she is married or not, the problem or event has to be dealt with at some point. Abortion is never the answer. It is not a form of birth control! If you do not want children, then do not have intercourse (or use protection if you're married.) Children are a gift from God. Don't you think God knew what could happen if you became intimate with someone? Didn't you know? Don't take away what God has intended to be a precious gift. Even if your pregnancy is from unwanted or forced sex. If you don't want this precious little bundle of joy to fill your life and your heart, then have it for someone who does. Contact a legal adoption agency and be a blessing to someone who may never know what it's like to hold a child, if not for yours. You could be the answer to their prayers. God is a forgiving God, and He will forgive whatever you decide. I beg you not to make the wrong choice. I know first hand that your regrets can last a lifetime. God can help you and He wants to hear from you.

Prayer

Dear Lord, Forgive me for I have sinned. My lust and uncontrollable desires have given me something I never wanted. A child. I don't know what to do. I know it is selfish and sinful of me to want to end the pregnancy. Give me the strength not to go through anything that doesn't have your blessing. I did not ask for this baby, but because of my actions it is now a very real part of my world. Help me, Father. Guide me to do what is right. Send me your wisdom and help me to undo the wrong I have done. Make a right out of this mistake for someone else who needs what I do not want. There are many childless couples in the world, Father. Choose one for my child. Give them this gift inside. And forgive my irresponsibility and lustful nature. I always want to do what is right. But sometimes it is so hard to do. Please forgive me when I go astray. Guide me, direct me, and never stop loving me. In Your Son's name. Amen.
