Infidelity (Yours/Theirs)
Scripture
Matthew 5:27, 28 "The laws of Moses said,
'You shall not commit adultery.' But I say: Anyone who even
looks at a
woman with lust in his eye has already committed adultery with
her in his heart."
Message
Oh the powers of the flesh when they tug at your emotions
(or your loins). Satan will do anything to get you to sin.
He dangles temptation in front of you like candy on a stick.
If you are weak and hungry, and tired of struggling to make
your marriage stronger and better, he may just get you to bite.
He tells you it is love and that everything will be so wonderful
when the two of you are finally together. He makes you believe
that what you are doing is good because it feels good. Satan
will use anything or anyone to make you fall. He will grind
on your conscience until you have none, and tell you the grass
on the other side is so much greener. But do not listen! He
is a liar. Lust is a sin no matter what your heart or loin
is saying! Contrary to what you may think, the grass is never
greener over there! And you know what? It still has to be watered
and mowed! Please don't do it. Think of all you will lose.
Ask God to help you overcome your fleshly desires. Remember
the sacred vows you took of faith, trust, fidelity and love?
Do not throw them away in a moment of weakness. It is not love!
When you see someone that stirs your heart and heats up your
blood, it is called lust. Love takes longer! It sometimes takes
years to build a solid foundation, as you get to know the person
God blessed you with, or possibly the one you chose on your
own. If your spouse is not the one God would have chosen for
you, but you did it anyway, be patient and faithful. Ask Him
to change your heart. God will bless your decision someday.
And your love will soar! You will be so comfortably peaceful
and very sure that your first choice was the best choice after
all.
Prayer
Dear Lord, I am humbly at your mercy once again. My evil thoughts
and overwhelming desires are affecting my senses. I know better,
and yet the temptation is too strong for me to handle by myself.
Help me get through this, Father. Satan is playing with every
fiber of my being and I am losing the battle. Do not let him
win! Do not let my heart be swayed away from those I treasure
the most. Do not let me live the rest of my life in regret.
Change my heart, Dear God. Help me to see with my eyes and
not with my foolish feelings of lust. The ideas that have been
planted in my mind are eating at my every thought. The desire
to give in has been made too easy for me. I am so weak. I know
the consequences of my choice could haunt me forever. You are
my saving grace, Father. I need you. Hear my prayer; listen
to my cry. In Your precious and mighty Son Jesus, I pray. Amen.
